436 Christmas Hampers in 3 hours!

Southport Lions Club, together with volunteers from a wide variety of organisations, packed 436 Christmas Hampers.

A total of 30 volunteers achieved this in 3 hours - making it the fastest time per hamper in over 40 years of Lions hamper packing!

Southport Hesketh Round Table made a substantial contribution towards the cost, the rest being raised by Southport Lions - largely through our charity shop "The Lions Shop" in Ainsdale.

All the fruit, vegetables, and hamper baskets were again donated by farmers around the Banks/Hesketh Bank/Tarleton area.

Work continues tomorrow distributing the hampers and all the food left over will be taken to the foodbank at Compassion Acts in Sussex Road.
